CARLA
Carla Cuthbert-Brown is a highly qualified Pilates instructor passionate about helping clients build strength, flexibility, and confidence in their movement. With expert knowledge in posture alignment, core stability, and injury prevention, she tailors sessions to all fitness levels, ensuring a safe, effective, and empowering Pilates experience.

‘I have a passion for pilates and love teaching and sharing my knowledge. I aim to create energising, relaxing, mindful sessions allowing clients to work at an optimal level for their own bodies in a fun and friendly environment.’


About
PILATES
Pilates is a series of exercises either mat based using body weight and small equipment or based on larger equipment with the use of springs as a form of resistance. The exercises focus on core strength as well as lengthening muscles, improving flexibility, mobility, strength and body awareness through controlled movements.
Each session is designed to give a full body workout, moving the body through each plane of movement and synchronising with the breath. It is great for strengthening and toning, improving postural alignment and can be challenging or create relaxation.
Pilates is for anyone, all levels of experience. Exercises can be modified to challenge the elite athlete or accommodate injury, restrictions or special circumstances.

HISTORY
Pilates is a low-impact exercise system designed to improve core strength, flexibility, and posture. Developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s, it was initially used for rehabilitation. Over time, it has evolved into a popular fitness method that enhances mind-body connection, creating balance, and overall physical well-being.
